Plotter Works
Recently I've been working with a pen plotter, a robotic arm that can hold a pen and make line drawings. I still love my digital prints where I have millions of colors available for any pixel, but working with the new possibilities and constraints of a plotter has been an interesting creative journey.
I am working with an AxiDraw V3/A3 made by Evil Mad Scientist, now owned by Bantam Tools. It's a little more expensive than other plotters, but it's built well and works great.
I've worked with a variety of disposable pens but I'm starting to look into higher-end refillable pens and inks. Most of the work here was made with these: Pigma Micron, Stabilo 88, Steadtler Triplus Fineliner, Uchida LePen, Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen, Sakura Gelly Roll, Uni-ball Signo.
Papers have included Strathmore Mixed Media, Strathmore Bristol, Strathmore Vision Watercolor, Fluid Hot Press Watercolor, Fabriano Mixed Media, and a few random pieces of paper I've acquired over the years.
